Before you make plans

A flatter 100 miles still has a 30-hour limit and a 50-mile qualification. Pacers are allowed only from Henley, and only one at a time.

Flat does not mean short

The page lists about 560 m of ascent over 100 miles, from Richmond to Oxford. That is a different day from a chalk ridge, and it is still a 30-hour race with a cutoff at every aid station.

The qualification on this page is a 50-mile race finished within 15 hours, between 1 January 2022 and race day. The South Downs Way 100 page uses a longer window, back to 2020. Do not borrow one event’s rule for the other.

The route stays on the Thames Path apart from a marked deviation to the Clifton Hampden aid station. The organiser says diversions for bridges and paths will be assessed nearer the event. Recheck the route before you travel.

Where other people can meet you

The start is on Richmond’s riverside, a short walk from Richmond station. The finish is at Queen’s College Sports Ground in Oxford, just off the path near the city centre.

Pacers are allowed from the 51-mile aid station at Henley. They must be on foot, and only one may be with you at a time. Crews may meet you only at the points on the organiser’s crew page. That page, not this summary, is the list to use.

Drop bags and the way home

Drop bags go to Henley at mile 51, Goring at mile 71, and the finish. Each bag must be no larger than 50 by 30 by 30 cm. Leave them at the start between 07:00 and 08:45. They can be collected at the finish between 10:00 and 15:00 on Sunday, and the page says anything left after 15:00 will be disposed of.

A separate finish-line bag of up to 50 litres can travel directly to Oxford. You need one bag per drop point, not one bag that visits all of them.

The aid-station section says there will be a minimum of twelve stations. The summary statistics list 13. Hot food is listed at Henley, Goring and the finish. The fee is £225, or £227 if you are unaffiliated.
