Running for a cause
Give the miles a purpose
that matters to you.
A cause can be part of your running without turning every kilometre into a fundraising target. Start with the people or work you want to support, and ask what would be useful.
Before you promise a total
- Ask the charity which fundraising channels it accepts.
- Check any minimum fundraising target attached to a charity race place.
- Explain whether donations pay for your entry or travel, or go directly to the cause.
- Keep donors informed if the race or your plans change.
Share the reason, then the details
Tell people why the cause matters to you, what you plan to do, and where they can verify the fundraiser. Use a donation link approved by the organisation. Clear information gives people room to decide.
The history behind the name
The original Running for Good Ultra linked a proposed desert event with wider environmental and social aims. Its archive also described a virtual challenge supporting the Fiona Oakes Foundation and a school project near Zagora.
